Camp Crosse now in it’s 15th year of operation offers a unique opportunity for players of all levels, beginner to advanced, focusing on skill development and strategy. Our boarding and day camp is open to players who range in age from those entering 5th grade to those entering the 9th grade. All players are organized into small groups (usually a ratio of 8:1, campers to staff), based on age and experience, and work closely with the returning Camp Crosse staff. Our experienced coaches provide a positive, fun environment, which we believe helps campers maximize their learning potential, and develop a greater sense of confidence.

We have many important goals at Camp Crosse, none more important than providing a fun and safe environment for all campers. We strive to ensure that young players begin to develop individual skills and team concepts necessary for success, while the more experienced players have an opportunity to hone their existing skills and are introduced to more advanced strategies. At Camp Crosse, each player gets the individual attention and instruction essential to improve every aspect of his game.

At Camp Crosse our primary focus is LACROSSE! The boys will take part in skill-development exercises, strategy sessions and scrimmages for approximately five to six hours each day. There will be two lacrosse sessions; one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The afternoon session will end right before dinner, at which point day campers will be dismissed.

Between lunch and the beginning of the second lacrosse session of the day, the boys have the opportunity to take part in a number of activities. There will be multiple clinics given by our experienced staff, ranging from face-off strategies, to shooting essentials, to goalie skills. We will have access to the student union, where the boys can play pool, ping-pong and foosball. And most exciting, especially on a hot summer day, we will have access to the swimming facility at Menlo College. So campers should definitely bring a bathing suit!

For our boarding campers we have a multitude of fun and exciting evening activities planned. These include a mini soccer tournament, ultimate frisbee, touch football, a lacrosse skills competition, and many more!

Again, the Camp Crosse staff is present to provide a fun, positive and safe environment for all of our campers. We look forward to working with your son this summer.

BOARDING CAMP

Our boarding camp is for players entering 5th grade to those entering 9th grade. Many of the younger players have no experience at all, while those in higher grades have been playing for a number of years. This is the perfect camp for players who want the entire lacrosse and social experience. Boarding campers will receive breakfast, lunch and dinner* and, in addition to the daytime lacrosse sessions, overnight campers will participate in coach-led evening activities. DAY CAMP

Our regular day camp is also for players entering 5th grade to those entering 9th grade. This is the perfect option for players who either live close to Menlo College or would rather not stay overnight. These campers have the same schedule as the boarding campers, only they will not participate in the evening activities. DIRECTOR

Dave Lee is the director of the lacrosse program at Town School for Boys in San Francisco and also the head coach for the school’s u15-A team. Dave also coached the Palega Bulldogs from 2001-2003. He played varsity lacrosse at Williams College and club lacrosse for TLC (Tokyo Lacrosse Club) in Tokyo, Japan and for the Alcatraz Lacrosse Club in San Francisco for six years. David also teaches 5th & 6th grade math at Town School. He also has an 8 month old son who is crawling around already with his fiddle stick.

The staff at Camp Crosse is dedicated to providing a fun and safe environment for all phases of our program. We help to foster the development of social skills, a sense of independence and self-confidence, and the opportunity to meet new friends. The boys who board will have the added opportunity of participating in evening clinics, on a variety of lacrosse topics, conducted by our experienced coaches.

To enroll, please fill out the online form and pay through PayPal or print out the enrollment form and clearly print the information required. Send the form, along with full payment or a $350.00 deposit to the address provided. Any balance due must be received by May 13, 2011. After submitting the enrollment form, please download the Parent Packet for pertinent camp information. In addition, please print the medical form, have your physician complete it and send it to the address provided.

Equipment

Players must provide their own equipment to ensure safety and proper fit. Equipment should include the following items: helmet, arm pads, shoulder pads, gloves, stick, mouthpiece and cup.

*These meals are provided daily with the exception of Monday (lunch and dinner) and Friday (breakfast only).

Take 101 south from San Francisco or north from San Jose. Take the Marsh Road/Atherton exit heading west. Turn left on Middlefield Road where Marsh Road ends at traffic light. Turn right on Encinal (Encinal School on the right). Proceed through the traffic light at El Camino Real to the entrance of Menlo College. Visitor parking will be to the right once inside the campus.

Take 280 south from San Francisco or north from San Jose. Take the Woodside Road exit heading east. Take the turn off to El Camino south. Proceed on El Camino to the entrance of Menlo College on the right about 2 miles. Visitor parking will be to the right once inside the campus.
